KIT

KIT is located in the former School met den Bijbel, built in the early 20th century in Rotterdam-West. The building functioned as a elementary and primary school until the early 21st century before becoming part of SKAR and hosting a number of artists and designers.

Over the years, the building has suffered extreme neglect, enduring heavy weather damage and slowly collecting dust.

In early 2025 the members of what is now KIT moved into the top floor of the building. Our studio is adjacent to the project space.

With KIT, we provide an experimental project space that will be used for exhibitions, screenings, workshops and a host of other events. Our combined backgrounds span photography, installation, fashion and sound art, and we want to create a stage for projects that are innovative, breaking norms and challenging the viewer.

Our space is welcoming to experimental works that are willing to engage with its history and signs of wear. Though its appearance may suggest otherwise, KIT is not a white cube.

During the course of 2026 we will host our first projects, so stay tuned!
